La dilettante - The nonchalante natural wine favorite in De Pijp

The sun is sticking around a little longer each day, your sunglasses made their seasonal debut, and just like that terrace season is officially upon us.

Spring has entered the chat

You know the feeling: that first glass in the golden hour, the clink of glasses outside, the gentle hum of a city waking up from hibernation. And if you’re wondering where to kick things off, La Dilettante might just be your new spring obsession.

A little slice of wine bar heaven
Tucked away in one of the calmer side streets of De Pijp, far from the tourist buzz, but close enough to feel the vibe, you’ll find this cozy little hideout. Named after a legendary Loire wine by Catherine & Pierre Breton, La Dilettante is where natural wine and relaxed hospitality come together like old friends.

A bar with roots (and good taste)

The bar is run by two hospitality pros who cut their teeth at Amsterdam’s very first natural wine bar, Glouglou. Their experience shows—expect thoughtful pours, easy-going service, and an atmosphere that feels more like a good friend’s living room than a bar. There’s no menu pressure here. Just ask what’s open, what they’re loving lately, and go from there. Off-menu? Even better. It’s how we discovered a wild Sicilian red with dark berries, soft spice and that perfect bit of funk

The bites you didn’t know you needed

Let’s talk food. Because while the wines shine, the snacks are far from an afterthought. The kitchen keeps it small and seasonal, but every dish hits. Think buttery gougères, slow-cooked duck confit, and a cheese plate that somehow matches every glass you order. Perfect for grazing, sharing, or just not leaving your table for a while.

Cosy inside, golden hour outside

La Dilettante is open every day, and depending on the weather, you’ll want to either claim a spot at the sun-soaked terrace or cozy up inside between candles and conversation. Either way, you’ll stay longer than planned, and definitely order a second glass.
